Anthology of Quotations

"It's very Australian to cling to the coast and have this idealised lifestyle that everyone can aspire to, while there's this whole other texture and fabric out there that is behind us - literally - as we stare out into the ocean. I think a lot of us are looking the wrong way sometimes." filmmaker Kriv Stenders, from article "West Side Stories" for movie "Little Fish" SMH 20 August, 2008

"..Then there is the daylight. Look at any photograph of the city, even the stricken lanes of turn-of-the-century Surry Hills or Industrial Waterloo, and the light is still bush light, dappled, elusive, melded to incline and unevenness, in spite of the overlay of asphalt and brick." Sydney, Della Falconer

"As an individual and an artist I can only hope to present a reality other than that presented by TV and the media. I believe that with humanity, compassion, and a re-examination of past values we can counter the destructive forces that threaten the very existence of a living environment on this earth." artist Viva Jillian Gibb. From Art Gallery of New South Wales Photography Collection titled Woolloomooloo
